In the beginning God created Adam and Eve, then placed them in a beautiful
garden. He gave them one law: Do not eat the fruit of a particular tree.
But the woman Eve listened (Genesis 3:1-6) to the reasoning of the serpent and ate the
forbidden fruit, then convinced Adam to eat also. This was the first sin.
When God questioned their actions, Adam blamed his wife Eve, and Eve in
turn blamed the serpent, but the serpent could blame nobody.
To this day people still try to blame others for their sins! The Bible
informs us in James,
As a result of their sin; Adam, Eve, and the serpent were punished.
The serpents punishment was that there would always be hatred between
it (snakes) and humans:
The mans punishment was that he had to work for his daily food:
The womans punishment was that she would be in subjection to her husband
and that he would rule over her. Also that giving birth would be a painful
experience.
And both were condemned to death. As are all their descendants down to our
very day:
So we should be aware of our actions. The Bible gives us advice and choices.
God has a future for us, but only if we make the right choices.
